The Art Work Of Denise Nielsen and George Worthington

The Artists

Denise Nielsen and George Worthington are a husband and wife partnership who work in collaboration on creative wood and alabaster sculptures. Denise was educated as an art teacher and received her masters of fine art degree, specializing in metal, from Pratt Institute in 1981. She also works in oils, creating large flower paintings that are blended in soft subtle colors. Her flower paintings often provide inspiration for their three dimensional pieces. George is a self-trained artist-craftsperson, whose skills encompass working in metal, wood and stone. They met while working together as professional jewelers. This background enables them to bring an attention to detail and creativity to their wood and stone sculptural pieces. Their sculptures and paintings are uniquely creative and original. New designs are added on a continuing basis.
